Altrusa Meeting

On Feb. 16 we were invited to speak at a meeting for Altrusa at the Clarion Inn, to discuss women's roles in Islam. Altrusa is an international association of business executives and professional women and men who volunteer their energies and expertise in projects dedicated to community betterment. Altrusa is a community service organizaiton that espouses volunteerism, service, and fights for literacy. The main speaker was Dr. Aicha Elshabini, the MSA faculty advisor. Brothers Shatawi and Alvis were also speakers and provided support during the question and answers session. Alhamdulillah, we are thankful for this great opportunity to discuss Islam and help clarify some of the myths the media presents about our wonderful religion.
